Lin Dan eases into Men?s Singles round-of-16 at German Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 ? Badminton news

China?s best player Lin Dan showed his brilliance as he penetrated into Men?s Singles round-of-16 after thrashing England?s Carl Baxter in the second round of German Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Germany, on Wednesday, February 29.

The World Number Two Lin, who is top seed in the championship, proved that he is far ahead in all aspects of the game as he did not show any mercy to his lower ranked English opponent and won the fight in straight games by taking just 33 minutes in the court.

On the other hand, Baxter could not match the speed of his higher ranked Chinese opponent and lost the contest without making any impact.

The top seed Lin, who is known as one of the most aggressive shuttlers in the world, played a relaxed game and remained in complete control of rallies.

The Chinese pushed his opponent in all areas by playing with precision and remained far ahead on the score board.

The English shuttler tried to play fast game but could not control the pace and remained trailing behind until the one-minute interval.

After the break, Lin continued his relaxed but fast game and maintained his lead over his confused opponent. His powerful drives and wonderful precision kept Baxter under pressure.

Lin remained on track throughout the first set and bagged it with a remarkable 21-14 score on the board.

In the second game, Baxter tried to played positive badminton but failed to take the bird early. He also could not return the well executed strokes of his Chinese opponent and remained struggling.

On the other hand, Lin did not drop the pace of rallies at any stage of the game and also did not miss any chance to extend his lead on the board.

Baxter had no answer to the perfectly executed shots of Lin and gave up fighting as he could not break the flow of his rival. Lin took the second game with a tremendous 21-9 score on the board.

The top seed Chinese won this 33-minute contest in straight games with a comprehensive margin of 21-14 and 21-9.
