Role Purpose Responsible for using sound epidemiologic principles, develop surveillance programs to measure adverse outcomes (i.e. Infections), risk factors, and their distribution in the population before, during and after intervention. Build interdisciplinary partnerships and innovative, cost-effective approaches to provide a safe environment where risks for adverse outcomes are mitigated for patients, employees and visitors at all healthcare care delivery sites. Decrease the impact of healthcare-acquired adverse outcomes (infections) and occupational exposures across the healthcare continuum. Responsibilities Conducts surveillance of healthcare-acquired infections and adverse outcomes. Works with leadership and staff to build infection control programs and maximize employee's protection against infectious disease. Leads outbreak investigations and performance improvement teams. Provides education and consultation to healthcare providers and professionals. Participates in infection control research, studies, data reporting and analysis.
